Dhruv Sayani's family had been in the business of hair for over 50 years. Crystal Plastics and Metallizing Pvt Ltd, the family company, manufactured and exported haircare products and accessories to hotel chains, salons, pharmacies and MNCs across the globe. When Dhruv joined as a third-generation entrepreneur in 2012, the business was established and the question was simple: what do you build next?
The answer was not found in a boardroom. It was found in the everyday reality of Indian hair. Hair loss and thinning were rising fast, especially in cities. And yet, the Indian market had no brand that had studied Indian hair, Indian water, Indian weather and Indian conditions and built specifically for them.
In 2018, with a personal investment of Rs 30 lakh, Dhruv launched KT Professional. A keratin-first, science-led haircare brand built for Indian women from the ground up. Within a few years, it was in 27,000+ salons across 28 states. It never ran a single advertising campaign to get there. The products did the work.
And then the questions started coming in from those same customers. What about my children? My husband has the same problems. Is there something for him too? Women. Kids. Men. Three clear gaps. One science capable of filling all of them. That is KT Life.

Most haircare and skincare brands in India are either imported and built for different conditions, or they are locally made but without any real science behind the formulation. Neither solves what Indian hair and skin actually face.
Indian conditions are specific. Hard water strips the scalp in most cities. Year-round UV causes structural hair damage that builds silently. Pollution accumulates in follicles and on skin daily. Stress-related greying is affecting younger people at a rate that imported science was never built to address.

KT Professional launched in 2018 as India's first salon-approved, keratin-powered haircare brand. It grew without advertising, across 28 states and 86 cities, purely through product performance and professional recommendation.
That trust was earned one salon at a time. One result at a time. Of every 60 formulations developed in the lab, only 3 reach the shelf. That standard has never changed. And it is the same standard behind every product across KT Kids and KT Men.

Dhruv Sayani's entry into haircare came from a personal experience, premature greying in his early twenties and a realisation that the products available to him were not designed for his hair or his conditions. That gap became a decade-long commitment to understanding what Indian hair actually needs.
He launched KT Professional in 2018 with a single conviction: that Indians deserved science-backed haircare formulated for Indian conditions, accessible at a price that matched the market. He spent 18 months studying 18 distinct hair challenges across the country, building a network of 150+ technical educators and grounding the brand in salon-level insight before it reached retail.
The brand grew without advertising because the products earned repeat customers. That discipline, earning scale through performance rather than chasing it through spend, is the principle that shapes everything KT builds.
